Here is a look at some of the talented artist's work from the third Art Club session...
Throughout this five-week club, we worked on creating pop art dogs with the help of transfer paper and finished the job with gouache paints. We recreated a Wassily Kandinsky piece with Acrylic paint, recreated Matisse artworks with pastel chalks, and markered in between. The last club was filled with a lot of arranging and gluing small modular shapes to create a Mondrian art piece.
Parents, if your kids are talking about products that we used in class, here is a short list:
POSCA Paint Markers
Winsor & Newton Watercolors
Winsor & Newton Gouache
Pastel Chalks
Mr. Sketch Smelly Markers

Here is a look at some of the talented artist's work from the second Art Club session...

Our main goal for this session was to learn how to create a self-portrait with the help of a transfer paper. Beginning with a photograph, we put a piece of transfer paper (carbon paper) underneath the photo and on top of the sketchbook. We traced as many details as we could and then removed the top two pieces of paper. The class was directed to finish three portraits with different mediums.  Mixing mediums was encouraged. I gave the class the idea of finishing one in marker, one in pastels (chalks), and, one in watercolor paint. Some kids decided to do their own thing and that's really what it is all about.  I absolutely LOVE how these spirited portraits turned out and I hope you do too!
